Throwback Thursday: Is The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Being Rebooted?

By: William Lawson

Nothing is off limits these days from being given a second chance. Full House is being rebooted by Netflix, X-Files is coming back to Fox, Ghostbusters is coming back to the big screen. So naturally the beloved show that gifted us with Will Smith should get a second chance, right? Well whether you agree or not, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is in early talks to be rebooted for the small screen.

According to Complex, Smith is behind this reboot idea and would be credited as the executive producer. TV Line reports that Overbrook Entertainment, Smith’s production company, “is in the very early stages of developing a new show that ‘puts a new spin on the fish-out-of-water tale while maintaining the spirit of the original series.'” The pitch for the show is still in the works and Smith along with his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith will start shopping the show around in a few weeks.
