Derek Nesbitt, updating you through a variety of platforms; a broadcast journalism and political science graduate of Michigan State University as of May 2016. Derek has a passion for writing to and for the public in hopes of bringing light to problems and situations that remain unnoticed as well as a huge passion for the art of dance. Upon graduation, she has been granted the opportunity to work for Labor Productions as a publicist as well as a core communications intern at Quicken Loans where Derek speaks directly with the client in hopes of resolving all issues that arise during the process of closing out a loan. Currently, she is in the process of producing her own urban fiction book which will be released late August of 2016 that will highlight actual hardships through an imaginary writing platform. Derek’s ultimate goal in life, when concerning her career as a writer, is to inspire people to chase their dreams despite what their current situation is in life, and she plans to do so starting with her book; showing her peers and those of younger generations that you have the power to be whoever you desire to be.
Dominique DuBois is a senior at Western Michigan University studying Textile & Apparel Studies with a focus on product development. Aside from being an active member of several on campus organizations, she holds a designer title for the organization, Merchandising Opportunities and Design Association, MODA, and has competed in multiple fashion shows. Dominique has had the pleasure of styling friends as well as personally designing a couple of their outfits. Dominique is passionate about all things fashion and beauty related. She has a special interest in sharing this passion with others in hopes of one day becoming her own boss as well as a significant figure within the fashion world. One of Dominique’s favorite quotes, “Fashion fades, style is forever” is the mantra of which she loves to live by.
Jillynn “Jill” Reese is a 23-year-old Detroit native. A recent graduate from Western Michigan University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in public relations. She’s the owner of Framepointe Public Relations and Events, where she provides services in media relations, event planning and personal image and brand management. Jill also manages her personal blog Glambitious, where she shares her personal and professional journey. Jill enjoys all things creative. She currently serves as the PR Intern for ArtPrize Eight in Grand Rapids, MI, a radically open international art competition. She strives for excellence and believes in creating opportunities for herself and those around her.
Born and raised in Saginaw, MI, Krissy Mitchell is a 22 year old blogger who has a passion for music and enjoys writing music as well. While majoring in Broadcast Journalism, and minoring in Public Relations at Wayne State University, Kristina Mitchell has begun to discover the best of both worlds of being a media journalists, and an aspiring A&R and music composer. Student by day and writer by night, Kristina has also written blogs for LOUD Music Brand, based out of NY, to support all local Indie artists in Detroit. Mitchell also dreams of one day owning an A&R company of her own.
Paisley Graham is a Detroit, Michigan native who is 20 years-old currently attending Western Michigan University. Paisley is studying communication studies with a minor in Spanish. Upon graduation Paisley plans to start off as a news anchor later crossing over into entertainment news. Paisley hopes to be featured of E! News or any other big TV network hosting award shows. She joined of The Social B. family fall 2015 where she worked with the famous Social B. Show. You may have seen her on episodes of The Social B. Show during the VOX prop commercial of the show. Tabinda Sial is determined to always keep you updated; a broadcast journalism student at Michigan State University. Tabinda has a passion for entertainment news as well as fashion and beauty. Currently she hosts her own YouTube series, Tabinda Show, where she discusses entertainment news, fashion, a Car Rides reality segment as well as giving advice to viewers. Tabinda enjoys making others happy and laugh while being able to be a listening ear to them as well.
Tirrea Billings is a native of Saginaw, Michigan, and is the epitome of #BlackGirlMagic with a love for writing and documentary film-making. Her life goal is to be the change that the film industry needs: more women and more people of color. She is a keen activist, and writes about issues and social injustice within the Black community. In her spare time, she is a cheer coach, yoga connoisseur, and a believer of supporting organic, locally sourced foods. Motto: Fear the girl with the smell of coffee on her lips, and dresses well on Mondays.
Shawn J. Ransom, formerly known as Soulkidd, is a multimedia specialist. Shawn’s love and eye for creativity inspired him to pursue a career in media. He is also an established photographer and model manager in the city of Detroit and DC. Mr. Ransom has worked for and been featured on American Forces Network, WHPR FM, WDET FM & MIX 92.3. Currently a digital media student at Wayne State University, Shawn J is aiming high for success. His motto is Are You Watching Closely – AYWC.
