St. Pablo Tour stops in Grand Rapids

Considering I haven’t been to a concert since, B2K was a thing. Going to the St. Pablo
Tour was another great experience for 2016. I was able to see why people pay the big bucks for the closer seats, although my seats were just as great. The concert took place in the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI., where the streets flooded with people from all over West Michigan to experience Mr. West and his hovering stage.

Kanye hit the platform at 9:21p.m., and the crowd went crazy. I’ll be honest, I enjoy Kanye as an artist and producer, but I really wasn’t a die hard fan–until now. The energy in that arena was amazing, I enjoyed every bit of it.

He performed several hits like, Jesus Walks, FourFive Seconds, Can’t Tell Me Nothing and several songs from Life of Pablo, obviously. Opening  with Father Stretch My Hands.

As I said before, I hadn’t been to a concert since watching Omarion glide across the stage at Joe Louis Arena, or maybe it was Lloyd…I’m not sure, but it has been a while. Of course, me being “Jill the camera lady” I wanted to capture so many great moments, for this post specifically. I had my phone out the entire time, recording and taking pictures.

I joked about how the set up and lighting made me feel like I was standing in the middle of Zion in the Matrix movie, because that’s exactly how it felt. The yellow lights gave it a real ambient touch. Listening to the crowd sing all the lyrics as if they were on stage performing. Needless-to-say, I had a ball and I need to learn more Yeezy songs new and old.

Love & Hip Hop: Homophobia?

By: William Lawson

Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, stylized as LHHH, returns to VH1 on September 7th. When the show returns, the cast will include fan favorites, new faces, a Love & Hip Hop: NY veteran, and a cast member that is already making headlines. For the first time in LHH history, the show will feature an intimate relationship between two men. One of the men in that relationship (pictured below) is openly gay rapper/producer/model Milan Christopher.

The plot between Milan and Miles aka Sir Brock is said to be based around the fact that Milan wants his boyfriend, Miles, to proudly embrace his homosexuality and start a family. Miles is also in the music industry, but struggles with his homosexuality and his relationship with Milan due to his Christian faith and his fear of the consequences of being openly gay in the music industry.

The real story here is that Milan feels that he is being ostracized by the rest of his cast mates due to his sexuality. TMZ broke the story on August 11th that he “believes he’s being shunned by cast members because they don’t want to share the small screen with an openly gay rapper.” According to TMZ, Milan has been filming for around 3 weeks but his cast mates Ray J, Soulja BoyOmarion and Mally Mall are shunning him. TMZ reports that “a number of the rappers are upset with producers for hiring Milan … not because he’s gay but because he has no cred in the rap game. They believe producers hired Milan as a ‘sideshow’ and a ‘circus’ to goose ratings.” TMZ also reports that a number of rappers on the show have already told producers that they wont film scenes with Milan which includes any parties or events where he is in attendance.

Are Milan’s fellow cast mates homophobic? Is this entire story a ploy to get people interested in the new season? Is Milan playing the “gay card”? Sound off in the comments!

Catch Ray J and Princess, Teairra Mari, Omarion and Apryl, Fizz, Miss Nikki Baby, Soulja Boy and Nia Riley, Moniece Slaughter and her new boyfriend (?) LHHNY veteran Rich Dollaz, and Hazel-E this September on VH1!

Pour The Honey: One Beef Turns Into Two Beefs?

At this point, everyone is aware of the ongoing beef between Drake and Meek Mill. Not only did Meek start and lose this beef, but he’s currently in the process of being investigated by the WWE for use of their theme song in his lack luster Drake diss track- but that’s another story.

In Meek’s diss track, “Wanna Know,” he referenced Ja Rule and 50 Cent’s decade old beef: “Real ni**as back in style / This sh*t is lit / This that Ja Rule sh*t and 50 Cent.”

Clearly Ja Rule listened to the song because he took to Instagram and posted a picture with the caption “Which one supposed to be Ja Rule??? #Over30millionrecordsSOLD #IwriteallmyS–t #MeekvsDrake.”

He didn’t just keep his comments on Instagram, he took to Twitter to clarify his comments and to squash any belief that there were any comparisons to his and 50 Cent’s beef and Drake and Meek’s.

If we know anything about Tyler Petty, I mean 50 Cent, then we know that he wouldn’t let his name come up in a conversation without saying something himself. Later the same day that Ja Rule took to Twitter, 50 Cent posted a tweet–that he later deleted–that read “Oh I herd what you said on the power 105 morning show, you fu**ing punk. Everybody know I put your ass to sleep.” 50 was referring to a radio interview that Ja did for “The Breakfast Club” back in 2014 where he talked about a brawl between the two of them.

Ja Rule didn’t let that slide, he fired back via Instagram, writing, “How u doin… 😂😂😂 this ho has a lot of balls!!! Unfortunately she also has a p**sy shut up before somebody put a d*ck in ya mouth.”

The timing of this beef is quite interesting considering that Ja Rule has a new song called “Wake Me Up” as well as an MTV docu-series, “Follow the Rules,” which premieres Oct. 26. Sound off below, is this for publicity or is this for real?

Sources close to Chance the Rapper say that Chance is planning some power moves.

After he released Surf with his band, The Social Experiment, he made it clear he wasn’t afraid to do something bold. More recently he’s released dates for his “Family Matters” tour which some suspect was inspired by the baby he has on the way with longtime girlfriend. Today, Chance made history dropping six tracks on Soundcloud in a collaborative effort with Lil B.

But a close source to Chance the Rapper says he’s been in talks with major artists like Kanye West, mulling over the idea of a Chicago artist based mixtape.

Let that rest in your spirit for a moment.

I’m hoping it’s true. The surprise releases today from Lil B and Chance have me hopeful.

And his song with up and coming artist Kehlani called, The Way, is a great hit; her sultry verses against his playful lyrics guarantee you’ll have it on repeat.

It’s been a great few months for music, folks.

Nicki Minaj’s Ex Safaree Samuels Releasing A Shady Diss Single About Nicki

Ex means: “Thanks for the EXperience. Our time has EXpired. Now EXit out of my life!”

Nicki Minaj’s heart-broken ex , Safaree Samuels, seems to have a different thought about what an Ex is.

Samuels is set to release his new single “Love The Most” this week where he dishes what happened between him and the doll, Nicki.

“Did the good out weigh the bad, or did the bad out weigh the good?” Safaree begins by asking. “You ain’t do it all alone. We took ourselves up out the hood,” Safaree raps in his song as he continuously reminding Nicki of the past.

So far everything seems cool, but as the song continues he just starts to lay out every incident that these two faced together. Asking Nicki,  “You remember what you told me when you wasn’t on those pills?”

Woah..Stop the press! Is he insinuating  that Nicki used to pop pills? SHADY  MUCH!

Of course, Safaree’s heartbroken rant didn’t stop there, as he mentioned her kissing Naz, her new fling with new bay Meek Mill, her refusal to carry his child, and even her alleged cheating.

“Had to watch you kiss Nas and pretend it’s all cool. Inside I was feeling like a motha f–king fool.” Is this the way 12 years should end?

Now if that ain’t just down right dirty! It’s a mere cry for attention. Have you ever made a point to publicly embarrass an EX? Share below.

The gang down at TMZ share a sample of the song. Check it out:

Is Tyga Not A Drake Fan?

Young Money rapper Tyga had a little more to talk about than just his new album.

In a recent interview with Vibe, the “Faded” rapper expressed his frustrations with not being able to release his forthcoming album The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty. Tyga then went on to talk about his disinterest in a few members within the Young Money Family, in particular, Drake and Nicki Minaj.

He revealed that he was forced to like them because they’re on the same label. Well, it’s clear to see that Tyga doesn’t conform to fake friendships even if it is for the look of the business.

“Yeah, I’m tryna’ go independent. I don’t really get along with Drake. I don’t really get along with Nicki,” Tyga says. “I don’t like Drake as a person. He’s just fake to me. I like his music; you know what I’m saying? I think his music is good, but we’re all different people. We were forced together and it was kinda’ like we were forcing relationships together. It is what it is.”

He’s attached to Young Money solely for Lil’Wayne!

“At the end of the day the reason why I signed to Young Money is because of Wayne. Not because of Drake, not because of Nicki. It was because of Wayne and my relationship with him,” he states.  “I try to be cool with everybody, but sometimes, everybody just has different personalities, motives, and different characters. When you realize that, you realize that’s not a place where you want to continue to grow.”

With Tyga having yet to hit his sales goal, despite “Rack City’s” quadruple platinum certification, it’s understandable to see why he cares to leave Young Money. His third album, Hotel California, was a total flop and it’s time for a change, especially if he wants to gain the attention that he’s been craving from fans.

Do you feel that its best that Tyga becomes an independent artist?
