A$AP FERG AND TOREY LANEZ TAKES MUSIC TO ANOTHER “LEVEL”

You know I couldn’t keep my social bees waiting for more music buzz any LONGER! So far you all have been with me on my musical journey to connect with various artists to witness their deep rooted passion for music and experience their growth as artists. It has been extremely rewarding to gravitate towards the authenticity of such humbleness, despite the continuous spotlight!

On my mission to experience the height of fulfilling musical greatness, had to witness the height of the new level that A$AP Ferg and Torey Lanez wants us to endevour along their journey of the Level Up Tour!

At Royal Oak Music Theatre A$AP FERG and Torey Lanez has showed us the higher level where they plan to take their music, and how much they appreciate their fans support! With the unexpected crowd surf,  Torey Lanez proved us all that we should expect him to not let up on building his way to the top! He even gave us a second of what real music is to him in a 90s R&B throwback session, which was one of my favorite parts of the show. Torey’s energy has clearly shown that he’s ready to prove to the world who he is through his own sound of cultured R&B. Something about those Toronto men!

The ‘I’m on a new level’ rapper A$AP Ferg, has managed to also make this statement a true one by releasing all inhibitions welcoming everyone to witness the rawness in representing himself, and also paid a tribute to the late A$AP Mob member, A$AP Yams. Ferg wholeheartedly performed his newest singles “Im on a new level” and “Line up the flex” featuring fellow tour mate Torey Lanez. Without a doubt you know they had the whole show LIT!! Here’s some clips to prove it!

Listen in! A$AP Ferg and Torey Lanez new single ‘Line up the flex‘ below!

DOPE DETROIT MUSIC: BACK AT IT AGAIN!

Back at it again with Dope Detroit Music!!

Being the music junkie I am you know I had to step on the music scene again this weekend for another “Dope Detroit Music” show! The first show has set the bar, and now I’m curious to see who’s REALLY about that word play and stage presence! Aren’t you?

The highly anticipated 2nd dose of Dope Detroit Music showcase came back at it again with a serious line up with artists such as Fuzz, Mark Will, Trilla George, and Kulture to name the least. What I noticed all these artists have in common is their “Art of Hustle“, relentless freedom through expression of their lyrics, and TRUTH! The truth in music is what captures us. It’s something we all can relate to, and if you live and breathe music, you’ll recognize it right away. Nonetheless, this is what a showcase is all about and we look forward to hearing more of Dope.Detroit.Music!

Here are some recaps of this weekend’s show in Highland Park! Stay tuned for future updates!

At this point, everyone is aware of the ongoing beef between Drake and Meek Mill. Not only did Meek start and lose this beef, but he’s currently in the process of being investigated by the WWE for use of their theme song in his lack luster Drake diss track- but that’s another story.

In Meek’s diss track, “Wanna Know,” he referenced Ja Rule and 50 Cent’s decade old beef: “Real ni**as back in style / This sh*t is lit / This that Ja Rule sh*t and 50 Cent.”

Clearly Ja Rule listened to the song because he took to Instagram and posted a picture with the caption “Which one supposed to be Ja Rule??? #Over30millionrecordsSOLD #IwriteallmyS–t #MeekvsDrake.”

He didn’t just keep his comments on Instagram, he took to Twitter to clarify his comments and to squash any belief that there were any comparisons to his and 50 Cent’s beef and Drake and Meek’s.

If we know anything about Tyler Petty, I mean 50 Cent, then we know that he wouldn’t let his name come up in a conversation without saying something himself. Later the same day that Ja Rule took to Twitter, 50 Cent posted a tweet–that he later deleted–that read “Oh I herd what you said on the power 105 morning show, you fu**ing punk. Everybody know I put your ass to sleep.” 50 was referring to a radio interview that Ja did for “The Breakfast Club” back in 2014 where he talked about a brawl between the two of them.

Ja Rule didn’t let that slide, he fired back via Instagram, writing, “How u doin… 😂😂😂 this ho has a lot of balls!!! Unfortunately she also has a p**sy shut up before somebody put a d*ck in ya mouth.”

The timing of this beef is quite interesting considering that Ja Rule has a new song called “Wake Me Up” as well as an MTV docu-series, “Follow the Rules,” which premieres Oct. 26. Sound off below, is this for publicity or is this for real?

Sources close to Chance the Rapper say that Chance is planning some power moves.

After he released Surf with his band, The Social Experiment, he made it clear he wasn’t afraid to do something bold. More recently he’s released dates for his “Family Matters” tour which some suspect was inspired by the baby he has on the way with longtime girlfriend. Today, Chance made history dropping six tracks on Soundcloud in a collaborative effort with Lil B.

But a close source to Chance the Rapper says he’s been in talks with major artists like Kanye West, mulling over the idea of a Chicago artist based mixtape.

Let that rest in your spirit for a moment.

I’m hoping it’s true. The surprise releases today from Lil B and Chance have me hopeful.

And his song with up and coming artist Kehlani called, The Way, is a great hit; her sultry verses against his playful lyrics guarantee you’ll have it on repeat.

It’s been a great few months for music, folks.

Austin The Icon

Failure is another steppingstone to greatness, and where words fail, music speaks.

Austin Echols is Austin The Icon. A new up and coming rap artist on his way to living what he calls an “iconic lifestyle” as he becomes apart of something elite. Hints the name, Austin The Icon!

He’s a student at Western Michigan University from Southfield, Michigan. Austin began rapping at the age of six, when he started off making bubble gum rap at the lunch table in elementary school.

It wasn’t until high school when the young rapper developed a serious passion for music. Early in his career he joined two rap groups, with close friends and family.

“My brother, my best friend Henry, and I used to get instrumentals off of YouTube and play them while we recorded us rapping on my phone,” says Austin.

Sadly, neither of the groups were as successful as they had hoped it would be. Although neither groups were successful, Austin never lost his passion for making music so he soon became a solo artist.

“I really don’t have a message I’m trying to give to the people,” says Austin. “I just want to give them good rap music because we are losing that in today’s society.”

Currently he is working on his new project “Lessons Learned”, which is set to release in 2015. For more information, visit Austin’s instagram page @AustinTheIcon or his twitter @MrGrammys
